Son Rock Kids Camp
Our annual Vacation Bible School was held nightly at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 13 - Friday, July 17, 2009.

Final Day
As was the case last year, I was too tired and too sad to immediately post the final camp message...here it is, a week later.
These pictures are from Thursday night and Friday morning. On Thursday night, after church group devotions and worship there was a party that consisted of a talent show. All campers who took tracs that taught performance type skills during the week got to show the entire group what they learned.
Thank you, parents, for allowing us to take part in ministering to your children for the week. As always, I believe the chaperones got the biggest blessing!

OMC
OMC stands for organized mass chaos. How can chaos be organized?
All campers are divided into Bible study groups. On the last full day of camp (Thursday), those groups compete to win the OMC Competition. Every camper receives a task card, completes it (which may require running around the OMC circle while "mooing" but usually tasks require water and shaving cream!) and returns it back to their group leader. This process is repeated until time runs out. The team with the most completed tasks wins! Click on the title to check out our gang participating in OMC.
On another note - tonight the Lord visibly moved in several of our children's lives. The Lord has added 2 more names to the Book of Life!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! He has also convicted several hearts to a higher level of commitment to Him. Praise Him for answered prayers!

Centri-Kid Camp Day Three

So here's the latest update:
Our illin' counselor, Amy, is well. It's great to have her back and able to enjoy the children.
We have such a wonderful group - a great bunch of kids who have really bonded this week. Keep praying for them - that the unity among them will strengthen and that God will have an eternal impact on their lives through their experiences this week. Specifically, pray for the children who are not saved that they will accept God's free gift of salvation and for those who are, that God will speak directly to them in His guidance on how they are to represent Christ in their lives as young people.
And, by the way, just a notice that these guys are being spiritually fed but the Bible study & worship times don't make great pics, you just get to see the crazy stuff! What's really great is that the counselors always point the children back to Jesus whether they're playing basketball, painting or learning sign language!

Centri-Kid Camp - Day Two
We had a great day! It started off a bit uneasy with a few illnesses, but our girls have pulled through and feel better. Please pray for chaperone, Amy Nelson, that the Lord will strengthen her so she can experience what He has to offer at camp.
Today was the first day to start "tracks" - where the students choose classes to take throughout the week - Babysitting, Flag Football, Basketball, Crafts, etc.
Jesus 360 is the theme for this week. Pray that our young people will get to know Him more intimately as they continue with this focused concentration on the Jesus, His nature and His power to save.

Children's Centri-Kid Camp
Almost 30 children have signed up to attend Centri-Kid camp in June.
